Student Council Food Drive

Seeing a lot of food in different classrooms? Wondering what it’s for? Well if you continue to read this article than you will find out!

The Student Council puts on its annual food drive to help people in our community. You might be thinking, well I know it’s to help people in our community, but why do we have to do it AGAIN this year? They made it different this year. After the outcome of raising money for the victims in Puerto Rico, they wanted to challenge the whole school to try to beat Team 7R and Team 8H. (If you haven’t seen that article, go check out the September’s Edition https://mrsphillips239.wixsite.com/oct17/hurricane-relief.) So they challenged the whole school to see who can beat those 2 teams. And so after some fierce competition, the results are in and…………

6th Grade: Columbian 4th place, Hathorn 3rd place, Red Springs 2nd place, and Excelsior 1st place

7th Grade: Columbian 4th place, Hathorn 3rd place, Excelsior 2nd place, and Red Springs 1st place

8th Grade: Red Springs 4th place, Excelsior 3rd place, Hathorn 2nd place, and Columbian 1st place

Maple Ave collected 2,131 items for people in need. Student Council thanks you for all your hard work!

8th grade collected: 466 items

7th grade collected: 764 items

6th grade collected: 901 items

The total amount for Maple: 2,131

Items were distributed by the High School to:  Franklin Community Center, Salvation Army, Shelters of Saratoga, Wilton Food Pantry and the County food bank
