Happy December and Happy Holidays!

If you haven't read the book of the month article before this is a monthly article where the author recommends a book that they have read and liked for you to read and hopefully like also.

This month's book is Jackaby by:William Ritter. If you're looking for an amazing book to read on a snow day Jackaby would be perfect for you. Jackaby is the first book in the Jackaby series and takes place in New Fiddleham, New England, in 1892.

This month's book is a mix of historical fiction, paranormal and mystery and one hundred percent a must read. One of my favorite parts about the book is the dialog. It doesn't sound stiff, helps you get to know the character's personalities, and especially makes you laugh. When Abagail Rook, the adventurous and detail-oriented narrator, ran away from home in search of adventure, she decides to move to New Fiddleham. While looking for a job Abagail meets R.F. Jackaby, a seer who is an eccentric investigator of the unexplained. After tragedy strikes in New Fiddleham, Abagail becomes Jackaby's assistant and gets a front row seat to what seems like an ordinary case that might be extraordinary. The police are convinced a typical villain is to blame but Jackaby suspects it's a supernatural being. Will Abagail Rook, R.F. Jackaby and Charlie Cane, a junior officer that believes Jackaby, be able to discover who has been causing the crimes and stop them from continuing?

To find out, read "Jackaby" by William Ritter.
