Our very own Ayla Skinner a Columbian 8th Grader and teammates reached sectionals in Gymnastics which lead them to States- In the first few weeks of March. The top 3 people in each even in sectionals got sent to states in Buffalo. Ayla got sent for the "All Around which is  (4 events, beam, bars, floor and vault)

Although none of the team members placed, Ayla got 25th out of 90 participants!-

Ayla mentioned that the uneven bars where her specialty-because, " I have been working really hard on it all year and it was my best event-" She mentioned how the even was really

exciting- and how it was really cool "to get to see the other teams because they were very different in their performances and it was fun getting to watch them do some really unique events...it was fun to compete with them." In the events the ages ranged from seventh graders to Seniors.

She and her teammates participated in the events over the weekend and

her team consisted of members from all of the surrounding school districts including,  Shaker, Bethlehem, Saratoga, and Guilderland-

She mentioned how her Coach, Coach Deb works super hard with all of the teammates and that- even with the tough year when 2 of our best competitors left we were able to keep the streak going and work really hard! To her teammates Ayla mentioned how proud she was of the the 7th and 8th graders working together and how one senior member,  Carly- was  very good with the younger teammates were truly good leaders and great captains!

We are do proud of you and your team Ayla! Way to represent Saratoga in Gymnastics!
