On Friday, March 18th Maple Ave. students and staff had an all out color war! Each house was provided a color and had to represent their hallway and spring together as one- battling the other colors throughout the day. Teams wore so many fun things from hats to glasses and even color coordinated socks and sneakers! The students loved how it made for a fun day and a feeling of being part of a unified team! Teachers that taught more than one team wore tie dye! Overall it was a great way to lead into the weekend and the spring like sunshine felt on this day gave us all SPRING FEVER! Looking forward to seeing all the colors of spring soon!

The Student Council debuted Color Wars on Friday, March 19. By: Rushton Trombley!

Students wore the color associated with their spring. Excelsior was Green, Columbian was Blue, Hathorn was Yellow, and Red was red. The student council planned to vote on which spring had the most participation, but because the after-school bus run was cancelled, they could not meet. Color wars coincided with the Holi, the Hindu festival.

Holi

Holi is an ancient Hindu festival that happens on March 19th. For many it is a playful cultural event and an excuse to throw colored powder at friends or strangers.

Student Council

The student council takes care of several things at Maple Ave like recycling, kindness closet and fundraisers. The council’s goal is to inspire community service at Maple. The council is managed by elected leaders. The student council's second goal is to boost school spirit, and they are doing an excellent job of it!
