                 "A Career For Thought"

By: Karley Austin and Sierra Borden

On December 13th,  2016, we had a few very special people enter our building. These guests came to talk to the kids in 8th grade home and careers about career choices for the future. Our first representative was a very good carpenter named Dave Muller. Dave gave some helpful tips to the kids if they want to be a carpenter or have a job of that sort. He mentioned the pride of being a carpenter and went over some proper interview etiquette. He also hinted that you would have to be pretty strong in your core school subjects (mostly math). Mr. Muller did a great job and another great surprise...Senator Carrie Woerner came!!! She is a senate and just got elected for her second term. She talked about appropriate manners in an interview. Such as don’t say "umm" a lot in an interview and the proper way to handshake. Overall, I think this interview was a great introduction to careers for the 8th graders and I hope maybe they take one of the cool jobs that were talked about into consideration.

Thank you for visiting ,Carrie and Dave!!!!!!
